Share Your Feedback: Updates to Controlled Acts Standard

The College is looking for feedback on updates to the Controlled Acts Standard.

The standard sets the requirements for physiotherapists to perform controlled acts like acupuncture, pelvic internal exams and spinal manipulation.

Every piece of feedback will be summarized for the Board’s consideration before they decide whether to approve the updated standard.

Join the College’s EDII Focus Group

The College is looking for physiotherapists who want to contribute to the profession by participating on a cWe’re looking for physiotherapists to join a new focus group that will help guide our equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenization (EDII) work.

We welcome people with a wide range of perspectives and lived experiences. Your experiences may come from your personal background, community involvement, education, or professional work.

Group members will participate in six virtual meetings in the next year. You will be paid for your time attending and preparing for meetings.

Case of the Month: Vague Plans a Real Problem

Physiotherapy treatment needs to be based on a specific diagnosis determined through an assessment.

Physiotherapists should use standardized measures to assess and reassess a patient’s condition and progress. Treatment plans must be consistent with the assessment findings.

In a new Case of the Month we look at what happens when unclear plans and poorly documented assessments lead to concerns that what’s being provided isn’t actually physiotherapy.

AI and Physiotherapy in Ontario: Current Trends, Opportunities, and Considerations

May 7, 12 to 1 p.m.

The College is pleased to join the Ontario Physiotherapy Association for a free webinar about AI and physiotherapy in Ontario.

Together we’ll explore where the digital health landscape is heading, hear some real-life examples of AI shaping physiotherapy practice, and chat about guidance to use these tools responsibly.

March Board Meeting Highlights

The College’s Board of Directors came together for their first meeting of 2026 on March 26 and 27.

The next meeting of the Board is scheduled for June 18 and 19. Board meetings are open to the public and anyone can attend online.
