How to Access Exam Results
Ontario Clinical Exam candidates will receive an email from the College when their results are available. This email will briefly inform candidates of their exam results, provide directions for accessing a performance summary if they were unsuccessful, and share information about next steps.
Candidate scores are uploaded to the PT Portal and are listed as either Pass or Fail.
Unsuccessful candidates will receive feedback related to the exam domain areas from the blueprint that they underperformed in. This performance summary will help candidates with remaining exam attempts to study for their next exam. The College will share information about a candidate’s unsuccessful results with other provincial physiotherapy regulators and the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR).
Successful candidates must register for an Independent Practice Certificate before their Provisional Practice Certificate expires to ensure they can continue to practice without interruption.

Reviews and Appeals
The goal of the Ontario Clinical Exam (OCE) is to fairly assess the competency of all candidates. However, during and after the exam, a candidate may identify factors that could have impacted their performance.
Remember: During the exam, candidates should always inform staff of any issues they encounter. Staff will document the issues and troubleshoot as much as possible.
If a candidate believes the issues they experienced impacted their exam performance, they may choose to request an exam review and potentially an exam appeal. An application for an exam review or appeal must be received BEFORE the exam results are released.
See the Exam Policy Booklet for more information.
