For physiotherapists, patients and others
A person’s mental health and wellbeing can be affected by many factors, including stress, health concerns, life events, work-related pressures, or involvement in a regulatory process.
The College does not provide mental health assessment, counselling, crisis intervention, or treatment services for patients, physiotherapists, or others. However, if you are looking for support for yourself or someone else, the resources below may help. These free services are independent of the College and you can access them without our involvement. Many services are free, confidential, available at anytime and offered in different languages.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger or requires urgent medical attention, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
If you’re not sure where to start, the Practice Advisors can help. Please email advice@collegept.org or call 1-800-583-5885 ext. 241.
If you are a physiotherapist looking for information on how to support a patient experiencing suicidal thoughts, abuse or other mental health challenges, please see our Strategies to Support Patients at Risk page.
If you or someone else is experiencing a mental health or suicide crisis, please access immediate support.
