College Reminder – Practice Restrictions Still in Place

May 14, 2020

The College has received numerous calls and inquiries following the Premier’s announcement earlier today (May 14, 2020) on the re-opening of some businesses in Ontario.

The following businesses and services are permitted to open as of May 19, 2020: Detailed List of Stage 1 Openings

At this point there are no changes to the existing advice on practice restrictions for physiotherapists.

Physiotherapists should continue to operate under the orders from the Ministry of Health document Directive #2, which was issued March 19, 2020.

This Directive limits in-person physiotherapy care to be delivered in urgent cases only. Non-urgent care can continue to be delivered using tele-rehabilitation if appropriate.

Until Directive #2 has been amended or rescinded, physiotherapists and other health professionals should not provide any non-urgent, in person care.

Sincerely,
