Webinars
What should you do when a patient discloses that they have been abused or is experiencing suicidal thoughts or is struggling with their mental health? It is a situation more and more physiotherapists find themselves in.
We know patients trust their physiotherapists and often share personal details about their lives. We also know that this kind of health care does not fall within a PT’s scope of practice, but you need to support your patients to get the help they need.
On Thursday, April 25 from noon until 1 pm we heard from a panel of experts—psychiatrist Dr. Mary Preisman, suicide interventionist Yvonne Bergmans and College Senior Physiotherapist Advisor, Fiona Campbell—who provided practical strategies, shared helpful support and answered your questions.
