Professional Issues Self Assessment (PISA)
Professional Issues Self Assessment (PISA) is the mandatory online annual self assessment that must be completed by any College of Physiotherapists of Ontario registrant with a Provisional Practice or Independent Practice Certificate.
PISA is a short (around 10 – 15 questions), multiple choice, online exercise. It is available to complete in the PT Portal in February and March each year along with your renewal. PISA must be completed annually by March 31.
PISA is not a test so it is not scored (no pass or fail). It is an opportunity for you to assess your awareness of practice issues, reflect on practice-related questions and look at resources and standards.
The only information the College captures is if you completed all the questions. If you do not complete PISA by March 31 you could be referred to the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee.

No, you will not be required to complete PISA if you choose to resign. If you would like to resign, please submit a resignation notice. Go into the PT Portal click SIGN IN and look for Submit a Resignation Notice under Profile. Your resignation must be received before March 31 at 11:59 p.m.
Yes, physiotherapy students are welcome to complete PISA as a learning exercise. Please contact PISA@collegept.org or 1-800-583-5885 ext. 222 for a link to complete PISA.
No, they are different. The Jurisprudence Module is designed to help physiotherapists understand the legislation, rules and standards that govern practice in Ontario. It takes place every 5 years and is a pass or fail test. You must also complete it within the first year of being registered with the College. PISA is an annual, online self assessment that gives you a chance to reflect on your practice.
Yes, it is. You have the option to choose English or French in the top right corner of the screen once you log into PISA in the PT Portal.
At the end of PISA, you will see a confirmation page that says you have successfully completed it. The College will keep a record of your completion.
Please do! We encourage everyone to use PISA as an opportunity to talk to their peers, collaborate, discuss and learn. You are very welcome to discuss PISA as a group. We have heard of people doing it as a lunch and learn or getting together with friends outside of work. All we ask is that each individual PT log in and complete it on their own so we have it for our records.
No, you will not. We have a record of who does and does not complete PISA (and we follow up with anyone who does not). You do not need to keep any record as the College has it on file.
